Why Is the Water Dispenser Slow or Dead?
The short answer
A trickle usually means an expired cartridge, weak household pressure or mineral in the outlet, while no water at all more often means a locked dispenser or an unprimed tank.
Check in this order
- Fit a new cartridge if the filter replacement icon is showing.
- Look up into the outlet with a flashlight and clear any mineral crust with a soft toothbrush.
- Check the dispenser lock is off, and on 600 series models that Sabbath Mode is not on.
- Prime a new installation: dispense for up to 60 seconds, pause 10 seconds, then try again.
- Open the shut-off valve fully, then fill a glass while no other tap is running and compare.

Behind the answer
Only some Sub-Zero models have a water dispenser. Sub-Zero says its flow depends on water pressure, how much you draw, what else in the house is running and the filters on the way.

Is the ice maker short of water too?
It may be, since the dispenser and the ice maker share one supply line into the refrigerator. Thin or hollow cubes alongside a feeble glass point at pressure or a clogged cartridge, not the dispenser. Change the cartridge first, then have a plumber check the pressure.
