How Much Ice Should a Sub-Zero Make in a Day?
The short answer
Sub-Zero rates its in-unit ice makers at 64 to 96 cubes a day, one batch of eight per harvest, so an empty bin can take one to two days to fill.
Check in this order
- Count from switch-on, because first ice can take up to 24 hours.
- Read the freezer set point and bring it back to 0°F, Sub-Zero's recommended setting, if it has crept up.
- Turn on Max Ice before a gathering on a Classic, Designer, PRO 36 or PRO 48; it raises output temporarily.
- Replace the water filter if its indicator is lit, and watch for small or hollow cubes, which Sub-Zero ties to low water pressure.
